]> http://www.wrongtrack.org/taxonomy/term/2/0 en http://www.wrongtrack.org/node/23 <p>Well, if you've ever wanted to name a bridge, here's your chance: <a href="http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/a_roads/a249/iwade_queenborough/name_crossing/index.htm">Swale Bridge competition</a>.</p> <p>As part of the A249 Iwade Bypass to Queenborough <a href="http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/a_roads/a249/iwade_queenborough/misc/new_crossing.htm">Improvement project</a>, <a href="http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/a_roads/a249/iwade_queenborough/misc/images/will_look_like_ai.jpg">the (artist's impression of the) bridge</a> looks pretty impressive.</p> <blockquote><p> The crossing will consist of two abutments, 18 pier bases (13 will be on land and 5 will be within the Swale Estuary), 36 supporting columns and 1.25 kilometres of bridge deck.
